That is the whole product, and it is more valuable than it sounds when the alternative is twenty-six men trying to co-ordinate lifts on a Saturday afternoon.

The bus seats 31 in booth-style seating that faces forward and back, so the group travels as a group. Laser lights are fitted, the sound system pairs over Bluetooth so the playlist is whatever the stag is being subjected to, and there is a toilet on board — which is the feature that decides most bookings once a run goes over an hour.

What goes wrong

The way stag transport usually goes wrong

The best man books the venue, the activity and the accommodation, then leaves transport as the easy bit. It is not the easy bit. Twenty-plus people moving between three locations on a Saturday is the part of the day most likely to collapse, and when it collapses it takes the schedule with it — the activity slot is missed, the table is released, and the group spends the afternoon standing outside.

Splitting a stag across taxis costs more than people expect once you count peak-time fares in both directions, and it guarantees the group arrives in fragments. Half the party in a venue and half still in traffic is how a planned day turns into a loose one.

On weekends away, the return leg is where it hurts. No booked way home from Carrick-on-Shannon or Belfast on a Sunday means either an expensive improvised solution or an extra night nobody budgeted for. And the person who has to explain that to twenty-five people is the same person who booked everything else.

Then there is the licensing question. Passenger transport in Ireland has to be run under a PSV licence by an insured operator with Cat D and CPC-qualified drivers. If a quote is cheap and nobody can answer that question plainly, the saving is not a saving.

A stag weekend is a transport job on both ends. The bus takes the group out on the Friday and brings everyone back on the Sunday, typically to Carrick-on-Shannon, Kilkenny, Carlingford, Belfast or Galway. Because the return is agreed at booking, the Sunday takes care of itself.

Activity days sit in between. Karting, paintball, golf, a range — whatever the group has booked, the bus runs the group to it and on to wherever the evening starts. Groups in Belfast and Carlingford often add the 15-person party bike as the daytime element instead.

Routes, pick-ups and timing a stag properly

Send the exact pick-up address with your enquiry. A 31-seat bus needs a road it can stop on legally and turn out of safely — tight estates, pedestrianised streets and some hotel forecourts do not work, and it is far better to sort that at enquiry stage than at eight o'clock on the night.

Timings are agreed in advance, including waiting time between stops, so nobody is watching a meter while the group finishes a round. If the plan is tighter than it looks on paper, we will say so rather than quote it and hope.

For weekends, both legs and the return time are locked in when you book. That single detail is the difference between a Sunday that runs itself and a Sunday spent negotiating.

What the quote is based on

Quotes are individual and in euro. The variables are distance, total hours, number of stops, how late the finish runs, and the date. The number of passengers is not a variable — up to 31 people, you are hiring the same bus for the same price.

There is no published price list because there is no standard stag. A one-hour Dublin run and a three-day Belfast weekend priced off the same sheet would mean one of them is wrong.

A small deposit holds the date once the quote is agreed, by card or bank transfer, with the balance settled on the terms we set out at booking. Nothing is added afterwards.

Yes, for the right booking. Dublin is the base and most pick-ups happen there, but we travel for stag weekends. Send the pick-up address with the enquiry and we will confirm whether it works for a full-size bus.

Can we add the party bike to a stag weekend?+

In Belfast and Carlingford. The 15-person party bike runs in both as an add-on to a bus booking, and it works well as a daytime activity before the night starts. Mention it when you enquire and it is priced in with the rest.
